This is a direct-fit replacement for the Garrett TMF5502 originally equipped on 2000-2008 Detroit Diesel series 60 12.7L engines rated at 500hp or 550hp, but is also commonly used as an upgrade for lower-power trucks. It does NOT have a wastegate, and it replaces the Garrett turbo's bolt-on housings with band clamps to allow for infinite adjustability, making it easier to use in custom applications. Other improvements include a larger compressor wheel to flow more air and make more power, and a twin-scroll turbine wheel on the exhaust side to reduce lag. This is a brand new turbocharger with no core deposit or return required.
