This is an adapter to allows a replacement turbocharger to fit the existing intake plumbing on all US-spec 2009 VW Jetta TDI models with a production date of July 20th 2009 or earlier. If you have a 2009 Jetta TDI, please check the VIN label on your driver's doorjam to locate your vehicle's production date. BorgWarner (the original manufacturer of the turbocharger) made a design revision part-way through the 2009 model year, and any replacement turbo you can order today would feature that revision and require this item to connect to your existing charge pipes. This is a brand new, genuine OEM BorgWarner part - same thing you'd get from a VW dealer.
